Students in Food Studies 10 will write their Food Safe exam on Monday, August 30.
Hello parents and guardians,
This semester has gotten off to a great start. Students are currently finishing up their soup unit. Next week we will transition to our egg unit. We will be making crepes, quiches, scotch eggs, and more.
Just a reminder that students are required to complete 10 assignments for this class. Students have a sheet that describes each assignment. As mentioned, there are 15 available and students must complete 10.
Any questions, feel free to touch base with me.
For Foods 10/11/12 this semester, students will be given 15 assignments. They will need to complete only 10 of these assignments. They range from podcasts to posters and more. We will go over all the assignments during the first few weeks of classes. These are due by the end of the semester.
Dear Parents / Guardians
Welcome to semester 2. This semester will be exciting for senior students as they will spend a majority of the time in the kitchen preparing meals for sale, as well as for themselves. All relevant information will be posted here. I will send very few emails home, as to avoid email overload. That said, feel free to reach out at any time if you have questions / concerns.
Just a quick note on what's happening in Foods 8 and Cafeteria 9
We are working through a variety of flour-based recipes at this time. Students have made muffins and will be making scones and a few other things in the coming weeks.
As a reminder to parents, cell phones are not permitted in the kitchen area. Please remind your child of this.
Students have completed their Food Safe tests and are now learning about the variety of foods that we will preparing each day for sale. There will be a cart this year that will be pushed around by some students.
If you have any questions at any time, please reach out. Thanks
Welcome back, everyone!
On this site you'll find some information for Susin's Foods classes.
Thanks for a weird, but wonderful semester. A lot of you put in a solid amount of work, and it is much appreciated. If you have any last minute assignments to hand in, I will accept them until Monday night (June 1st).
Have a wonderful summer, and see you next year!
Keep up the wonderful work. Many of you are producing great looking meals! Your family is lucky to have you around to help out during this time.
This week, try to collaborate with someone on something. Maybe your mom or dad makes something, and you add do it. Or you work with one of your siblings to make something for a mom or dad or guardian.
Don't forget to get out outside and enjoy the sun!
