Report cards will be going home this week or next. If you have any questions about the report card or would like more details, please feel free to contact me via email or call the school directly. Thank you Darren Susin A big welcome back to all students this year, and hello to all new grade 8s.
For parents/guardians of students in Food Studies classes, please have a chat with your child about the following items. 1. Attendance and punctuality are key to a successful semester at our school 2. Cell phones are not permitted in the kitchen area at any time 3. Food Safe behaviour is expected at all times while working in the cafeteria. Also, if your child is catching at 3:03 bus, please let me know so that I can make not of it. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at any time. Hello Parents / Guardians,
Please have a discussion with your child about whether or not they are participating in class. There are many students who often choose to sit out. During the first few weeks of school, it was stressed to students that participation is central to their grade. If students choose to sit out too often, they will not be successful in this class. There is no credit recovery in this course. It is 100% participation and hands-on learning. For senior students, please remember you have 10 assignments that are due at the end of the semester. Please work on these at your own pace, and hand them in as they are completed. Please email me if you have any questions. Hello parents / guardians,
We will be doing remote learning until January 7th. Here is what your child can focus on for this final week. Cafeteria class - please try to make one dish at home and send me a photo of it. Any type of dish will do. Be creative! Senior Foods - please work on the booklets that you received in August. All students have 10 assignments to complete before the end of the semester. Students should have the booklets with them. Any questions, please touch base. Thank you Darren Susin Happy New Year to all students and their parents / guardians.
Senior Foods will spend the final week of the semester doing a "Best Of The Year" collection of recipes and our Foods 10 class will continue their great work on providing food to the school community. Any questions, please touch base. Students in Food Studies 10 will write their Food Safe exam on Monday, August 30.
Hello parents and guardians,
This semester has gotten off to a great start. Students are currently finishing up their soup unit. Next week we will transition to our egg unit. We will be making crepes, quiches, scotch eggs, and more. Just a reminder that students are required to complete 10 assignments for this class. Students have a sheet that describes each assignment. As mentioned, there are 15 available and students must complete 10. Any questions, feel free to touch base with me. |
